This week we learnt about:

Maths – Number lines to 100

English – We started sentence stacking and our text was the Three Little Pigs, the Wolf's story.

Spellings and Handwriting – Practising joining our letters and words ending with the suffixes -ed, -er, -ing

Guided Reading – We read the first chapters of The Magic Finger by Roald Dahl before building our vocabulary, retrieval and inference skills to answer questions

Science – We continued with our study of voluntary and non-voluntary muscle movements

Geography – We built on our knowledge of the compass points and moved on to Grid References.

History – The Neolithic era is the next step we started to explore in the Stone Age.

RE - Creation Stories across multiple faiths

PE - Hockey

There have been many new routines to learn, but with lots of practice, it will become second nature soon enough.

In the curriculum we learnt about:

Maths – Place value and partitioning numbers up to 100

English – Nouns, adjectives and time adverbials as we aim to re-write the tale of the 3 little pigs, taking on the view of the Big Bad Wolf...or is he?

Geography – We looked at the 8 points of a compass. We had one person going the extra mile and adding flags in each direction.

History – Exploring the difference between the Old Stone Age and the Middle Stone Age

Science – The Human Body. We made a steady start at exploring voluntary and involuntary muscle movement.

Art – We looked at the artist Paul Klee as we studied line and form

PSHE – To know our worth and recognise positive things about ourselves and others
